Árni Heimir Ingólfsson
Árni Heimir Ingólfsson studied piano performance at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and musicology at Harvard University, completing his PhD in 2003. He has appeared in numerous concerts as a pianist and conductor. His biography of Icelandic composer Jón Leifs, published in 2009, was nominated for the Icelandic Book Award. He has directed music from Icelandic manuscripts on two CDs, both of which won the Icelandic Music Awards for Best Classical CD of the Year. Árni has held the positions of Associate Professor of Musicology at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, and Programme Director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. He is currently writing a book on music in Icelandic manuscripts from 1400 to 1800.
